Robert Waters, a resident of Tyrrell County, North Carolina, plays both the hammered and mountain dulcimer, autoharp, old-time banjo, Celtic harp, and even a few tunes on the Cajun accordion. His experience as a professional musician ranges from performing with the National Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall to coordinating the musical portion of the Swearing-In Ceremony for North Carolina’s Governor at the Old Legislative Building in Raleigh.
He has played and toured with the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington D.C., was a former member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, the Fairfax Symphony, the Annapolis Symphony, and the Triangle Brass Band of Raleigh. Robert retired from the 440th Army National Guard Band in 2014, where he served as the leader of the Liberty Brass and provided musical support for military and civilian personnel all across the Great State of North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland.
